Unusually the weather was awful so there wasn't much point in wearing trousers. Jeans are particularly useless to the traveller-either too hot or too cold, take ages to dry, and they don't half grab you on long hot journeys!
Best by far are zipoffs which can be longs or shorts, and dry very quickly. A sarong to wrap around yourwaist/use as a towel/bedsheet is very handy-Beckham got it right-the press didn't....
