To help you decide how to plan your gap year - think about what you like/or would like to do, or decide which countries and cultures interest you. Perhaps you have family abroad, go and visit them, stay awhile until you get the feel of the place, and then set off for an adventure...

It's ideal when somewhere fulfils both these things. Take surfing - there are many gap year locations around the world, and some of them are particularly good for low budget travellers. Bali is one of these, you can surf your legs off and live for chips on the beach in little huts, the culture is utterly wonderful and the people are just so friendly.

It's an ideal stopover to or from Oz, preferably on your return when you've made some money from your gap year job and are heading back for Uni....

AND DON'T FORGET, LATER ON WHEN YOU'RE EARNING AND TAKING THOSE HOLIDAYS, DON'T SIMPLY COP OUT AND GO ON A PACKAGE TOUR-GET OUT THE GUIDE BOOKS AND ORGANISE AN ADVENTURE TO EXTEND AND EXCITE YOURSELF!! GET A LIFE!!-SO MANY PEOPLE THESE DAYS LIVE VICARIOUS LIVES AND RELY SO MUCH ON OTHERS TO AMUSE AND ENTERTAIN THEM.....BIG BROTHER?-GET REAL.CALL THAT LIVING? DARE YOU HAVE A LIFE OF YOUR OWN? SOMETHING SPECIAL AND UNIQUE, AN ADVENTURE.....
